What Is Intelligence? How to Measure One’s Intelligence?

There has often been debate about exactly what intelligence is. But usually people can define intelligence as the capacity of many related abilities such as goal-directed and adaptive behavior, capacities to reason, to plan, to solve problems, to think abstractly, to comprehend ideas, to use language, and to learn. In some cases, intelligence may include traits such as creativity, personality, character, knowledge, or wisdom. However there is no agreement on which traits define the phenomenon of intelligence agreed upon by a majority. It is difficult to measure one’s intelligence. But one method that is really known is to do the IQ test. I believe that most of you have heard or known about the Intelligence Quotient or IQ.

What is IQ itself ? It is mainly a score derived from one of several different standardized test designed to assess intelligence. The first of these was developed by French psychologist named Alfred Binet in 1905. Today, the IQ test is commonly based on some model of the Stanford Binet Intelligence scale.
